Manos a la Obra

'Manos a la Obra', known in English as “Operation Bootstrap,” was a series of economic development projects launched in the late 1940s by the U.S. government and Puerto Rican leaders. Aimed at transforming Puerto Rico from an agricultural to an industrialized economy, the program radically reshaped the island’s labor, economy, and relationship with the United States.
