Trabas

This installation gathers trabas—door locks—from the homes of the artist’s close friends and family members. In Puerto Rico, these locks secure the gates of houses, serving as everyday symbols of protection and personal safety. Recreated in ceramic, the trabas become delicate echoes of their original function, inviting reflection on the fragility of security within both domestic and social spaces on the island.
